Abstract

PURPOSE: To heighten the stability of movement of a belt, by minimizing the coefficient of friction between conveying surfaces to cause slippage between them to absorb the circumferential length difference made on a guide pulley.
CONSTITUTION: After bonding treatment is effected on a seamless woven fabric core 14 made of synthetic fibers such as polyester yarn, the core 14 is impregnated with acrylonitrile rubber reinforced with an agent such as carbon black and silica. Firm press-vulcanization is then effected to make a rubber layer 15. To reduce the coefficient of friction on the conveying surface 16 of the rubber layer 15 and keep an appropriate holding force between the surface 16 and a sheet, the viscosity and vulcanization pressure of rubber are controlled so that much rubber does not flow in at the time of the press-vulcanization and recesses and protrusions based on the texture of weft 17 and warp 18 of the woven fabric core 14 are left. The pulley contact surface 19 of the rubber layer 15 is polished to attain a uniform coefficient of friction on a pulley and make constant interval lines.
