Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately and uniformly control friction torque without causing irregular friction, by regulating the pressure of pressurized air.
CONSTITUTION: A piston 33 is rotated through an annular cylinder block 16 at the same speed as a winding shaft 11. A friction ring 13 is secured with a flange member 12 on the outer race of a ball bearing 14 so that the ring 13 can rotate freely relative to the winding shaft 11. An expansible/contractible member 23 fitted in the opening 21 of the friction ring 13 indirectly rotated by friction torque caused on the contact surfaces of the ring 13 and the piston 33. The friction torque T2 is accurately controlled by regulating a pushing force applied from the piston 33 to the friction ring 13.
