CONSTITUTION:A flat plate 2 is manufactured by using a transparent org. high polymer material having the same properties as those of glass such as polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate or the like. A thin film 3 of metal such as Ni, Al or the like is formed by a method such as vapor deposition or sputtering on one surface of this plate 2, and a hygroscopic antifogging resin such as hydroxy lower alkyl acrylate, hydroxy lower alkyl methacrylate, polyvinyl alcohol or the like is coated on one surface thereof to provide a thin film 1 of resin, whereby a mirror is produced. The resultant mirror is lighter in weight and is harder to break as compared to glass. Even if it should break, the danger by the broken pieces thereof is small.
