Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a natural topographical model having a high accuracy, by inputting a contour line and a numerical value of its altitude in a computer, calculating other part than the contour line by an interpolating calculation in accordance with said data, and controlling a cutting device in acordance with this numerical value. CONSTITUTION:A contour line map 1 which becomes a base of a topographical model is inputted to a computer 3 by an input device 2. The contour line map is written in the form of a bit pattern (bit map) in a memory of 1 picture portion provided on the computer 3. This bit map is displayed on a monitor screen, and a value of altitude of each contour line is inputted in the form of a table from a console 4. In accordance with a position of said contour line and its altitude numerical information, the computer calculates altitude of a part where no contour exists by means of an interpolating calculation, and this value is stored in an external memory 5 in the form of a table (byte map) according to each point. In this way, a topographical model having a high accuracy is obtained by controlling a cutting device which can be operated in three dimensions, in accordance with a data of the byte map.
