Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a titled control device which prevents the waste of energy and improves the quality of product by constituting the device so as to feed the detected value of the temp. in the width direction of a skelp after passage through a heating furnace and a high frequency heater back to the heating furnace and the high frequency heater.
CONSTITUTION: The temp. in the width direction of a skelp S past a heating furnace 50 and a high frequency heater 51 is detected 1, and this detected value is transmitted to an operating part 2 for the temp. in the central part of the skelp, by which an average temp. TM is calculated. This temp. TM signal is further fed to a heating furnace temp. controller 5. The controller 5 controls the furnace 50 at an optimum temp. in accordance with the temp. TM. The detected value by the detector 1 is also transmitted to a skelp edge temp. operator 3, which operates a maximum temp. and transmits this max. temp. signal to a high frequency heating temp. controller 6. The controller 6 controls the electric current to be supplied to the induction coil of the heater 51 to an optimum value in accordance with this signal. As a result, the temp. and distribution in the width direction of the skelp S are measured with good accuracy, and in accordance with the measured values, the temp. of the furnace 50 and the supply current of the heater 51 are controlled accurately, whereby the waste of energy is prevented.
