Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the wear resistance of a steel contg. a prescribed amount of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, V and Ni by combinedly adding restricted Al and N to the steel so as to crystallize VC carbide finely and spheroidally.
CONSTITUTION: The titled steel is obtd. by combinedly adding 0.1W0.5%Al and 0.02W0.15% N to an alloy consisting of, by wt., 0.06W3% C, 0.1W2% Si, ≤1% Mn, 2W10% Cr, 0.1W1.2% Mo, 2.4W6% V, 0.1W2% Co, ≤1% Ni and the balance Fe while satisfying equation Al×N≥8×10-3. This steel contains fine spheroidal VC carbide and has superior wear resistance.
