Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to keep the humidity of air in a room to be air-conditioned at a constant level, by fitting a moisture absorbing and releasing panel made of a moisture absorbing and releasing material in an air inlet opening, and thereby minimizing change in the humidity of air in the room with no use of a dehumidifier and a humidifier.
CONSTITUTION: An intake grille 2, air filter 3 and a panel 4 made of a moisture absorbing and releasing material are fitted in an air intake opening 1 of an air conditioner. When operation of a compressor 8 is switched from ON to OFF, water attached to cooling coil 7 is evaporated and introduced from an outlet opening 9 into a room to be air-conditioned, so that humidity in the room is raised. In this state, moisture is absorbed by the moisture absorbing and releasing panel 4 fitted in the air intake opening 1, so that rise of the humidity in the room can be moderated. On the other hand, when operation of the compressor 8 is switched from OFF to ON, humidity in the room begins to drop. In this state, however, moisture is released from the panel 4, so that the drop of the humidity in the room can be moderated.
