Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a circuit and to eliminate an input error, by displaying on a voltmeter the output of a potentiometer driven by a reduction gear coupled with the rotary shaft of a rotary drum, wound with a rope, through a transmission mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A rope 2 is wound, being multilayered, around a rotary drum 1 regularly by a driver 3. The rotation of the rotary drum 1 is decelerated by a reduction gear 4 through sprockets 5 and 5' and a roller chain 6, and its output is transmitted to a length measuring circuit 7 to display the length of the rope on a voltmeter 8. In the length measuring circuit 7, potentiometers 10 and 11 connected to a constant-voltage power source 9 have brushes A and B driven by the reduction gear 4 as shown by an arrow when the rope 2 are unwound from the rotary drum 1, or reversely when the rope is wound, and their outputs are adjusted through volume controls 12 and 13 to display the rope length on the voltmeter 8. Thus, the circuit is simplified and an input error is eliminated.
