Abstract

PURPOSE: A lubricant applicable with good workability in a uniform thickness to an electrical switch, a connector and a sliding part such as guide rail of a safety belt for an automobile with suppressed oil loss due to absorption, which is prepared by compounding a lubricating agent with a glycerophosphatide.
CONSTITUTION: A lubricant is prepared by compounding 100pts.wt. lubricating agent such as lithium stearate soap or an α-olefin oil grease with 0.3W20pt.wt. glycerophosphatide such as soybean lecithin. When the lubricant is used for spray coating, a liquid or gaseous solvent nonreactive with the lubricating agent and the glycerophosphatide and having a high vapor pressure at a temp. ≤ about 50°C suitable as the boiling point of a propellant, such as trichlorofluoroethane, is compounded in an amt. in wt. not more than ten times that of the lubricating agent. The lubricating is well absorbed to a sliding interface and is hydrophobic and spreadable onto the interface, so that the oil is effectively prevented from being absorbed through the interface to a sliding member. Therefore it is possible to enhance water resistance and wear resistance of a coated body.
