Abstract
PURPOSE:To have a good performance of chamfering and polishing, processes made by a planetary type revolving barrel polishing machine by placing many sheets to be processed parallelly and utilizing relative slippage of works, sheets to be processed, containing abrasives between themselves. CONSTITUTION:To bearings 5 installed on a tallet 4 in the frame 1, barrel shafts 6 holding barrels 7 are mounted. A wheel 9 is installed on each shaft 6 and the tallet 4 is rotated by a motor 12 through a chain 11. On the other hand, rotation of the motor 16 is transmitted to a wheel 10 by another chain 22 after speed being changed by a speed change device 20 with the aid of a belt 18 to drive a wheel 9 and thereby allow the barrel 7 to rotate around its own axis. Works 31 are placed into the barrles in parallel with the end surfaces 33 of barrels, which are driven upon being filled with abrasives 34. Thus polishing is performed. In the case of barrels having a circular profile, the whole makes motion as a single mass, so that no change will occur in relative positions of the works, that ensures together with slippage between layers of abrasives a good performance of polishing.
