Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent intrusion of an engine into the interior of a car on collision by cutting intermediate part between the both side frames of a perimeter frame obliquely towards the rear part from the front upper part and intalling a flange on the cut surface and connecting the flange by means of bolts.
CONSTITUTION: A perimeter frame 1 is constituted by fabricating into a frame shape the right and the left side frames 2 and 3 which extend in the longitudinal direction and have the closed section, and the front cross frame 4 and the rear cross frame 5 each having the closed section. The intermediate part between the side frames 2 and 3 is cut obliquely towards the rear from the upper front part, and divided into frames 1a and 1b, and a flange 18 is formed on the cut surface, and the flanges 18 are combined and connected by means of bolts 20 and nuts 21.
