Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to quantitatively detect even a very low degree of a pureness after degreasing and cleaning, by a method wherein measurement is performed through the transmission of only fluorescence emitted from grease resulting from the irradiation of an object surface with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:In a light emitted from an ultraviolet lamp 1, a surplus of ultraviolet rays is cut by a filter 2, and only the required ultraviolet rays are surrounded by a light-shielding cylinder 9 on a solid surface 5, and a surface 4, whereto grease is adhered, is irradiated with said ultraviolet rays. Only fluorescence emitted from the object surface 4 is selectively transmitted by an ultraviolet cut off filter 7, and a fluorescence strength is measured by a faint light detector 8 to quantitatively grasp a grease film thickness. This permits a degreasing and cleaning degree to be decided instantly and facilitates application at a manufacturing site of a product.
