Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from invading an oil sealing part or respective bearing parts effectively, by providing a screw part for air suction to each end part of the rotary shaft of a developer storage device. CONSTITUTION:In both side plates 14 and 15 of a developer storage device 12 wherein a developer 5 is contained, small-diameter parts 13a and 13b of a rotary shaft 13 are bore in bearings 16 and 17; and the rotary shaft 13 has left screws 13c and 13d for air suction, and their external circumferential parts are fitted loosely in holes 14a and 15a, made in the side plates 14 and 15, with fine gaps. Then, the rotary shaft turns at a high speed to advance the screw threads of the screw parts 13c and 13d inward, so that negative pressure is produced at housings 21 and 22. This negative pressure operation sends external air to the screw parts 13c and 13d all the time to seal the developer 5, preventing it from invading the housings and respective bearing parts.
