Abstract

PURPOSE:To use a cursor for graphic display in addition to characters and to determine its position easily by providing a code buffer which correspond to display characters, a graphic memory for a display pattern, and keys for inputting picture-element information. CONSTITUTION:When characters are inputted with alphanumeric keys, the coordinate data of a cursor are trnsferred to an MPU3. The MPU3 sets the codes of the character in an address of a code buffer 8 and the cursor advances automatically. When picture-element information is inputted with a graphic key 6, the picture-element information is held as a dot pattern in an address of a graphic memory 14 through the operation of a graphic-mode selection key 7. When a display key is operated, the MPU3 sends some coordinate data of display data having been inputted and at the same time, a display timing generating circuit 10 sends a row signal to the code buffer 8 and graphic memory 14. Those signals are converted by a series-parallel conversion part 15 into video signals as a cursor specified position on a CRT, thereby displaying the character and picture-element information simultaneously.
