PURPOSE:To perform intermittent operation suitable to an equipment to be controlled, by providing a period counter and an off-time counter which count pulse signals and, when their count values go to a period set value and an off-time set value, generate outputs respectively. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed-period pulse signal from a reference signal generator 1 is counted by a period counter 2 and an off-time counter 3 respectively. The counter 2, when its count value reaches a period set value, generates an output and, while resetting to restart counting, sets a self-holding device 4 with its output. The device 4 makes a Q' output a 0 to open the contact 6a of a relay 6 through a relay driver 5. The counter 3, when its count value reaches the set value of a count value setter 8 which sets a count value equivalent to a time set by an off-time setter 7, generates an output to reset the device 4. The device, once reset, generates a Q' output 1 to close the contact 6a via the device 5, thereby operating an equipment to be controlled. Simultaneously, the counter 3 is reset to stop the counting operation of the counter 3.
