Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the load exerted to a drive motor, by the constitution that a magnetic tape drawing-out means or an operating member is locked only when the magnetic tape drawing-out means is at operating position and the operating mode of the device main body is switched after the coupling between a cam and an operating member is decoupled. CONSTITUTION:In the transit of mode from the recording/playback to PAUSE/ CEW/REVIEW or vice versa, since a lock arm 138 keeps the state latching a fan type gear 64 at all times, a load to hold the tape loading state, i.e., a reacting force due to loading tension spring is held at the lock arm 138, and the 1st cam follower is detached from the cam plane, and the reacting force for the tape loading is not exerted to the cam 52 at all, resulting that only a load moving a main rod 82 is given to a drive motor 50 which performs tape loading operation and operation switching operation, allowing to reduce the rating.
