Abstract

PURPOSE: To control feeding of a wire while visually observing welding states and obtain good welding results with a welding torch by using two hand switches and performing feeding and backward feeding of the wire with one of these and controlling of feed speed with the other.
CONSTITUTION: In TIG welding or the like, two pieces of hand switches 6, 7 are provided to a welding torch 2. When the switch 6 is pushed, a welding signal is emitted and when this is released, the welding signal stops. At this timing, regular welding current flows and a wire is fed. When the temp. of the work rises high during welding, the operator pushes the switch 7 to control the wire feed speed at the 2nd speed set in a controller 5. When the operator pushes the switch 6 at the weld end part, crater current is supplied from an electric power soucrce 1 via the controller 5, whereby crater treatment is accomplished. When the switch 6 is released, the wire is fed backward and is pulled upward from the work.
