Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce the titled steel plate stably by a method wherein magnetic stirring or unltrasonic vibration is applied to a molten silicon steel of specified composition to produce a slab having columnar crystal in a specified ratio, and the slab is cold rolled at a reduction ratio according to the heating temperature. CONSTITUTION:A melt of a silicon steel containing, by weight 2-4.5% of Si, 0.01-0.08% of C, 0.02-0.15% of Mn and a total amount of 0.005-0.1% of at least one element selected from the group consisting of S, Se, Sb, Bi, Pb, Sn and B is subjected to continuous casting in which it is applied with magnetic stirring or ultrasonic vibration during the solidification process, to obtain the slab having a volumetric ratio of columnar crystal adjusted to 30-70%. A steel strip produced from the slab by heating to 1,100-1,250 deg.C followed by hot rolling is subjected to two runs of cold rolling, with a process annealing therebetween, to attain a finished plate thickness and then decarburizing and final annealing treatments are conducted. The reduction ratio R(%) for the secondary cold rolling is set in accordance with the temperature T( deg.C) to which the slab was heated, so as to satisfy the condition of the expression.
