Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled mixture, capable of assuming the liquidity even at room temperature and facilitating the addition as an epoxy resin curing (accelerating) agent to an epoxy resin, by fusing an imidazole with ethylmethylimidazole unsubstituted at the 1-positions respectively at a specific molar ratio.
CONSTITUTION: Imidazole is fused with 2-ethy-4-methylimidazole at a molar ratio in the range of (4:6)W(5:5) to give the aimed mixture which is a liquid at room temperature. The imidazoles unsubstituted at the 1-positions are solids at ordinary temperature; however, both components fused at the molar ratio provide the mixture which is a liquid at ordinary temperature and makes the mixing with an epoxy resin, etc. uniform.
EFFECT: A high crosslinking density provides a cured article having improved heat and chemical resistance.
