Abstract

PURPOSE: To better the control characteristics at a low speed by controlling the wheel velocity based on the slippage factor when it exceeds a fixed level while a brake slackening signal is outputted within the range of a prescribed value regardless of the slippage when it is below the level.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus operates as indicated by the flowchart in the drawing with a control circuit employing a microcomputer. Steps 100 and 101 are provided to check the outputting of a brake slackening signal while the wheel velocity below K1 (for example, 3km/h). A step 102 is provided to output the brake slackening signal when the wheel velocity is below K2 (for example, 6km/h). A step 11 determines whether the deceleration of the wheel above the given level (for example, 1G). When the wheel velocity is below the prescribed level, the velocity is controlled regardless of the slippage factor. Thus, the brake slackening signal is kept from being outputted immediately prior to the stoppage thereby improving the control characteristics at a low speed.
