Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the mounting of a heating device onto a heat-inuslating plate by laying lead wires connected to the intake air heating device composed of inner and outer cylinders and a PTC element within a groove provided on the heat-insulating plate.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-insulating plate 4 is provided between a carburetter 6 and a suction manifold 2. Besides, an intake air heater vessel 14 is held between them to be positioned in the heat-insulating plate 4. The vessel 14 is provided with a cylindrical inner cylinder 15 and outer cylinder 16 inside and outside, and contains an elastic electrode 29 and a PTC element 33 between both cylinders. The element 33 is electrically connected to lead wires 42 and 44 arranged to be inserted through a connector 48 for supplying current in accordance with the outside temperature. A groove 55 is provided radially on a part of the heat- insulating plate 4, and the connector 48 is pushed into the groove 55 and led outside.
