Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the misreading of characters, by designating the type of a character after reading a character type designating region provided on a slip and then reading the character written into a character writing region provided right after the character type designating region. CONSTITUTION:A program coding sheet 1 includes a character writing region 1b to which a program is written and a character type designating region 1a where the types of characters are designated. The diagram shows an example of the relationship between the control characters which are written into the region 1a on the sheet 1 and the type of character designated by the control character. For instance, a control character ''E'' designates three types of characters, i.e., KATAKANA (square Japanese syllabary), marks and English letters. When an OCR reads the sheet 1, the type of character which is written into the region 1b is designated after reading the region 1a. Thus the misreading between a figure ''7'' and one letter of KATAKANA for instance can be avoided to reduce the wrong character factor.
