Abstract

PURPOSE: A yarn cutter in which the edges of drum-type yarn cutter are electrically connected in series to form a series circuit, and the breaking of the circuit promptly detects the damage of the edge.
CONSTITUTION: In a drum-type yarn cutter in which yarn 1 is wound around the outer periphery of the drum 3, 9 which is formed by setting cutting blades 2, 30 to a couple of rotors radially and is cut by pushing the roller 4 to the wound yarn, the cutting blades 30 are fitted through supporting rings of electrical insulator 14, 24 to a couple of rotors 10, 20 and a series circuit is formed by use of all the cutting blades 30 except for one. Further, the one cutting blade is provided with the power source and a display for showing the application of electrical load. It is acheived, for example, by mounting cutting blade-supporting blocks 25 of electrically conductive material with two slits 15a and 15b engraved for setting the edges 30 to a couple of supporting rings 14, 24 alternately.
