Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a cover plate and other parts of a boiler against deformation, by supporting a flange formed at an opening of a combustion barrel and a cover plate for the opening in a movable manner so that a clearance is formed therebetween by the pressure in the combustion barrel when it is raised extraordinarily, and that combustion gas can be released with ease, for instance, when explosion is caused.
CONSTITUTION: When a burner 6 is combusted, combustion gas is carried through the inside of a combustion barrel 5 and discharged from an exhaust pipe (not shown) by a motor fan incorporated in the burner 6. In doing so, water in a boiler chamber 2 is heated by the combustion gas through the wall of the combustion barrel 5. Here, a cover plate 20 is fixed to a flange 5a formed at the opening end of the combustion barrel 5 by the intermediary of a packing 23 by means of screws 22 having tension springs 21. With such an arrangement, if internal pressure of the combustion barrel 5 is increased extraordinarily due to explosive ignition, the cover plate 20 is forced open against the force of the tension springs 21 to form some clearance between the flange 5a and the cover plate 20. Resultantly, high-pressure combustion gas can be released to the outside, so that the cover plate 20 and other parts of the boiler can be protected against deformation.
