Abstract

PURPOSE: To smoothly discharge the entire amount of a powdery or granular material without reducing the capacity of a tank, by applying air to discharge the powdery or granular material and by using push plates to move the material toward the opened part of a discharge pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Compressed air is supplied to chambers 11W13 by a compressor 19. The flow rate of the air to the central chamber 12 is decreased by a throttle valve 25 so that the flow rate of the air to the front and rear chambers 11, 13 is higher. When a valve is opened, a powdery or granular material near the opened part of a discharge pipe 9 is fluidized by the compressed air and conducted under pressure out of a tank 1. At the same time, push plates 10, 10' are thrusted toward the center of the tank 1 because there is a large pressure difference made between the central chamber 12 and the front and rear chambers 11, 13, so that the powdery or granular material is moved toward the opened part of the discharge pipe 9.
