Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the discharge performance of an organic electrolytic cell, by heat-treating a manganese dioxide active material used in said cell while gas including oxygen is successively supplied into and exhausted from the heating atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The anode 1 and an electrolyte absorber (a separator) 3 is inserted into an anode can 2, and the cathode 7 made of metallic lithium is attached under pressure to a net 6 put on the inner surface of a cathode terminal plate 5. An organic electrolystic cell is formed by hermetically sealing a mouth formed by those components 2 and 5 while a gasket 4 is interposed between both 2, 5. Manganese dioxide of the anode 1 is transformed into the intermediate substances of tau type and beta type by means of heat treatment. This heat treatment is processed while gas including oxygen, for example, air is supplied into and exhausted from the heating atmosphere of manganese dioxide. Further, the heating temperature is preferably 370-430 deg.C.
