Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of erroneous operation in the non re-detecting condition in the cause of binder holes, etc. in such a way that two original detecting means and a control means are provided so as to continue monitoring by the other detecting means after the detection by one detecting means.
CONSTITUTION: Reflecting sensors 64-1, 64-2 to detect slant feeding of originals are provided in an automatic original feeder (ADF) 40, and a control circuit is provided which works by signals S1, S2 given out of the both sensors 64-1, 64-2, and has a timer 111, flip flops 112, 113, etc. When the sensor 64-1 detects the originals, the signal S1 becomes H level, and the timer 111 is set. Then, when the sensor 64-2 detects the original, the signal S2 becomes H level, but when the signal S2 becomes L level again in the cause of binder holes, etc., the timer 111 times up. In consequence, the flip flop 113 is not set, and output of JAM signals is not given, so that erroneous operation does not occur.
