Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of fixation by providing a high-frequency generating means, a casing surrounding the means, and a couple of high-frequency absorber rollers on a recording carriage path in the casing. CONSTITUTION:A couple of rollers 10 and 11 made of electromagnetic wave absorbers 10a and 11a are provided on a carriage path for a recording material 7 in a casing 14. The recording material 7, after its image is developed, enters the casing 14 through a carriage entrance 14a by a carriage belt 1, and passes through a dielectric heater 8 and then between the rollers 10 and 11 to be discharged out of the casing 14. An electromagnetic wave generated by the dielectric heater 8 contributes to fixation effectively, but part of it is not caused to strike the recording material 7. At this time, the excessive electromagnetic wave is reflected and scattered repeatedly in a fixing device 21 to be absorbed by the electromagnetic wave absorbers 10a and 11a, thereby preventing the electromagnetic wave from leaking toward the discharge part for the recording material 7.
