Abstract
PURPOSE:To make communication possible even if faults occur in both systems of dual transmission lines, by inserting photocouplers, which synthesize two optical inputs and branch them into two, in one position, at least, of optical transmission lines of dual photoelectric converting circuits. CONSTITUTION:Dual optical transmission lines consist of optical fiber cables 2-1-2-3 and 2'-1-2'-3, electrooptic converting circuits 4, 4', 6, and 6', and photoelectric converting circuits 3, 3', 5, and 5'. Photocouplers 10 and 11 are inserted just after electrooptic converting circuits 4, 4', 6, and 6'. Photocouplers 10 and 11 synthesize two optical inputs and branch them into two and tramsmit them to the next optical fiber cables. Consequently, even if faults occur in the electrooptic converting circuit 4 and the optical cable 2'-1, a communication line is secured.
