Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform changing over of drawing and pushing back of an ingot easily and quickly and control the strokes thereof accurately by providing two motors for forward running and backward running and driving said motors in a horizontal and continuous casting plant.
CONSTITUTION: When a clutch 8 is engaged by the signal from a control circuit 14 and an electric motor 3 for forward running having been disconnected till then is connected to a speed reducer 7, pinch rolls 1a, 1b revolve in a forward direction and draw an ingot 2. When a preset counter for setting the rate of drawing counts up upon arrival of the rate of drawing of the ingot 2 at the set value, the clutch 8 is disengaged and the motor 3 is disconnected, by which the drawing is decelerated until it stops. At this stage, an air motor 4 for backward running which was in backward running till then turns to forward running, and revolve the pinch rolls 1a, 1b backward at a low speed, thereby pushing back the ingot 2 slightly. When a preset counter for setting the rate of pushing back counts up, a clutch engagement signal is outputted to start the next drawing.
