Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the flow passage resistance and to make a compressor compact by forming discharge port at a cylinder liner or cylinder in proximity of the upper dead point of the discharge valve of a radial type compressor.
CONSTITUTION: Multiple number of discharge port 5 is formed in proximity of the upper dead point of each cylinder liner, a ring shaped valve 12 being attached to the outer circumference of each port to tightly seal it by the elasticity thereof. The compressed working gas is discharged to a high pressure gas passage 24 from the discharge port 5 of the cylinder liner 2 near the upper dead point by push opening the ring shaped valve 12. The use of said ring shaped valve 12 eliminates the need for installing a high pressure chamber at the outside of a cylinderhead 4 thereby substantially reducing the size of the compressor, particularly the size in the radial direction.
