Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the oscillation of a hull, by providing a plurality of flap plates which elastically allow the inward revolution, near the lower end of each side plate, and revolving said flap plates in order to absorb the wave energy when the wave force acts thereon.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of flap plates 3 are attached near the lower end of each side plate 1c. These flap plates 3 can revolve inwardly through hinges 6 and are normally held by means of revolution angle regulating chains 5, at such positions that the upper ends thereof extend obliquely outwardly. When the wave force acts on the flap plates 3, they revolve inwardly, contracting oil-pressure buffer-restoring members 4 capable of expansion and contraction. Consequently, the water between the side plate 1c and the flap plates 3 is pushed up and made to flow outwardly from the upper ends of the flap plates 3, and thereby the wave energy is absorbed. When the wave force acting on the flap plates 3 becomes weak, they are restored to their original positions by the functions of the oil-pressure buffer-restoring members 4.
