Abstract

PURPOSE: To mass-produce a roll-formed bundle with a high productivity by a method wherein a roller screen form body of hollow fibers for a selectively permeable membrane is prepared which has both ends of the fibers connected respectively by belt- shaped seal members and a means for separating a roll-formed bundle or the roller screen form body and a means for melt adhering the seal members are provided.
CONSTITUTION: Both ends of a plurality of the hollow fibers 2 aligned in parallel are heat sealed by using tapes 3 having their edge parts coated with a low melting point hot melt adhesive 5, to obtain an array 1 of the hollow fibers connected in the form of a roller screen. The array 1 is passed (after being wound up to be a large diameter roll or as it is) between upper and lower guides 10, 11 by guide rollers 7, 8 which clamp the tapes 3 therebetween, and the array 1 is wound up around a reel 27. When a predetermined amount of the array 1 is wound up, the array is stopped and is fixed in position by the clamping force of the rollers 7, 8, after which the tapes 3 are cut at a line X-X by a cutter 13. The array 1 on the reel 27 side is completely wound up around the reel 27, then the hot melt adhesive 5 parts are melted again over the entire part of the periphery of the reel 27 by a heater 14 to totally bind the wound-up array 1 into one body.
