第１図はＴＮ液晶パネルの構造断面図を表わす。
第２図は従来の方法による、−上下偏光板の偏光方向を
互いに直交して配置したＴＮ液晶パネルと面発光素子で
あるＥＬ素子を組み合わせた電気光学的表示装置の構造
断面図を表わす。第３図は第２図に示される従来の電気
光学的表示装置の表示パターンの一実施例であり、斜線
部分Ａは暗い部分、白紙部分Ｂは発光部分を表わす。第
４図は本考案による表示装置の一実施例の構造断面図で
あり、ＴＮ液晶パネルの上下偏光板の偏光方向を平行に
配置している。第５図は本考案による表示装置の表示パ
ターンの一例であり、斜線部分Ｃは暗い部分、白紙部分
りは発光部分を表わす。第６図は第５図の本考案による
表示装置に必要なＥＬ素子の発光部分のパターンを表わ
す。（斜線部Ｅ）。
