Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a dirty oil accumulation tank temporarily storing dirty oil having moisture mixed therein and capable of removing solid impurities, constituted from such a mechanism that moisture and solid impurities are separated rom dirty oil supplied to an upper chamber partitioned by a partition plate and solid impurities are discharged to a lower chamber through a flooding pipe having a fine pipe suspended from the side part thereof. CONSTITUTION:Air containing fuel vapor and return oil from a filter separator are respectively flowed into the upper chamber 3 of a tank main body 1 from inlets 19, 11 while water containing fuel separated by the filter separator is flowed into the lower chamber 4 thereof. On the other hand, while dirty oil accumulated in the chamber 3 is separated in the order of solid impurities (c), water (b) and fuel (a) from the bottom part by the difference in specific gravity, it is accumulated to the connecting part of the upper flooding pipe 5 to the fine pipe 6 and flooded to be further flowed into the chamber 4 from the pipe 6 through the pipe 5. At this time, because the lower end of the pipe 6 approaches te bottom surface of the chamber 3, solid impurities (c) and water (b) are flowed into the chamber 4 at first and fuel relatively low in a contamination degree left in the chamber 3 appropriately sucked by a oil supply pump from a suction port 12 to be supplied to an airplane through the filter separator.

In conventional oil supply systems of this kind, although the dirty oil storage tank plays a major role, it is only a box for storing dirty oil, so it has little utility value.
The structure was just a box. On the other hand, since fuel is expensive, there is a need to equip a refueling system with a device that removes impurities, moisture, etc. mixed into the fuel, and regenerates the fuel so that it can be used effectively.

This invention was made in view of the above circumstances, and by considering the dirty oil storage tank as a part of the oil supply system and adding functions to organically fulfill its role,
It is characterized by being able to temporarily store the dirty oil spilled from the filter separator and the dirty oil mixed with water discharged from the water separator, and at the same time to remove impure solids from this dirty oil. The purpose of this project is to provide a stale oil storage tank for fuel.

When refueling work begins, air containing fuel vapor separated by the filter separator air separator enters the tank upper chamber 3 of the dirty oil reservoir from the port 19, and return oil from the filter separator returns to the oil refueling port 11. Inflow from
Water containing fuel separated by a filter separator water separator flows into the lower chamber 4. The dirty oil accumulated in the upper chamber 3 is separated from the bottom of the upper chamber 3 by impure solid content c1 due to the difference in specific gravity.
Water b1 and fuel a are separated in this order and accumulated up to the connection portion of the capillary tube 6 with the upper overflow tube 5. When the amount of dirty oil flowing in exceeds the upper part of the thin tube 6 and the connection part with the overflow tube 5, it overflows and flows from the thin tube 6 through the overflow tube 5 into the lower chamber 4. At this time, since the lower end of the thin tube 6 is placed close to the bottom surface of the upper chamber 3, the impure solids C1 flow into the lower chamber 4 first, and fuel with a relatively low degree of contamination remains in the upper chamber 3. This is suitably sucked into a refueling pump (not shown) through the suction port 12, passed through a filter separator, and then refueled into an aircraft or the like. The drain boat 10 provided in the upper chamber 3 is used to appropriately remove the impure solid matter C1 accumulated in the inclined concentration area aa and to keep the inside of the upper chamber 3 clean before refueling work. In addition, since most of what accumulates in the lower chamber 4 is impurities, the drain port 10
Discharge as appropriate.

The air suction and vapor discharge pipe 8 provided at the upper part of the tank upper chamber 3 is connected to the upper chamber 3 and the lower chamber 4 when positive pressure is applied during refueling operations, and when the fuel is sucked in by the pump from the suction boat 12. This is provided to prevent the tank from being destroyed due to pressure build-up. In addition, the gate valve 9 provided in the middle of the air suction and vapor discharge pipe 8 is kept open at all times for the reasons mentioned above, but when moving the device, etc.
Closed when there is a risk of fuel running out. Overflow pipe 5
This eliminates the pressure difference between the compartments when fuel flows in and out of the upper chamber 3 and the lower chamber 4, and at the same time, if fuel that exceeds the flow rate of the capillary flows into the upper chamber 3 for some reason, it prevents it from overflowing to the outside. This is provided to allow the water to escape to the lower chamber 4.

In the above embodiment, the partition plate 2 is formed in an inclined shape concentrating toward the center thereof, and the tips of the thin tubes 6 are disposed in this concentrated region 3a, but the structure is not necessarily limited to this. Needless to say, the partition plate 2 may be inclined to one side, and the tips of the thin tubes 6 may be disposed in the lower concentrated portion 3a of the partition plate 2.

As explained above, according to the dirty oil sump tank of the present invention, the upper chamber and the lower chamber separated by the partition plate are communicated with each other through the overflow pipe, and the upper chamber and the lower chamber are communicated with each other through the overflow pipe. Since the upper chamber is connected to the bottom of the upper chamber 3 through a thin tube that hangs down, it separates the water content and impure solids in the dirty fuel oil supplied into the upper chamber 3 from the fuel, and also reduces the hydraulic pressure of the dirty oil. The effect is that the impure solids can be discharged into the lower chamber through a part of the capillary tube and the overflow pipe, and then discharged from the lower chamber to the outside. There is no need to equip equipment such as separators, the entire oil supply system can be made smaller and cheaper, and it also has excellent effects such as making maintenance and inspection more convenient. Remarkable.
