A threading member is installed at the lower end, and an operating shaft, which has a guide pin with both ends protruding horizontally at the upper end, is vertically slidable and rotatable on the needle bar support parallel to the needle bar. An operating body is mounted on the operating shaft so as to be vertically movable and rotatable, one end of the guide pin is slidably fitted into an inclined window provided on the operating body, and the operating body is attached to the operating shaft. It is supported so as to be movable in the vertical direction on a needle bar support body and biased upwardly by a spring, and a spring is wound around the operating shaft to urge the operating shaft downwardly. On the other hand, a locking body is fixed to the needle bar, and when the operating body is pushed down and the threading member is at the same height as the needle target, the other end of the guide pin is fixed to the locking body. In an automatic threading device of a sewing machine, the guide pin comes into contact with the guide pin to restrict the subsequent descent of the operating shaft, and threads the thread by rotating the operating shaft at that position. A rotation stopper made of an elastic material is inserted into the operating shaft and provided on the upper part of the boss of the needle bar support that regulates the lower limit of the needle bar support, and the rotation stop prevents rotation relative to the needle bar support. In addition to being mounted so as not to move, the rotation stopper forms a locking surface against which the guide pin comes into contact and locks, so that the operating body is fixed when the needle bar is below the threading operation setting range. When the actuating shaft is lowered by pressing down, the guide pin comes into contact with the rotating eave stop to regulate the lower limit of the actuating shaft, and the locking surface prevents rotation of the actuating shaft.
