A method has been proposed in which the light source is blinked to increase the evasion effect and to make effective use of the storage battery, and the optimum blinking cycle is determined from both legibility and visibility.

The purpose of this is to make more effective use of storage batteries, and in normal conditions when there is no smoke in the surrounding area, the flashing time interval is slightly longer to improve readability, and when there is smoke surrounding the guide light, In addition, as smoke density increases, legibility cannot be expected, so visibility should be emphasized, and the blinking cycle should be changed in the absence of smoke. The longer length reduces the power consumption of the storage battery and accelerates the flashing cycle when the smoke density increases.

Of course, the light source and its detection element may be provided outside the housing of the guide light, for example, in a hallway through which smoke passes.

Not only can this be used to guide evacuations, but it also has the effect of allowing the emergency internal storage battery power source to be used more efficiently.
