ある。しかしながら、この提案のものでは、鋳片を連続
的に引抜き、安定した連続鋳造操業を行なうことは、以

ル全体に及び、凝固シェルの弱い上記接続個所で破断す
る。そうすると、該破断個所に新しい溶鋼が入り込み、
新たな凝固シェルを形成するが、この新たな凝固シェル
は弱いため、すぐに破断1〜、また、該破断個所に溶鋼
が入り、新たな弱い凝固/エルを作る。この現象が繰返
される間に、鋳片の引抜きにつれて、破断個所は鋳型3
の外部に出て、溶鋼が外部に流出し、鋳造が不能になる
。また、逆に鋳片の引抜き速度が早いと、舌片状の凝固
物5の成長は妨げられるが、凝固シェル4の方が弱くな
り、凝固シェル4が破断されるおそれがあるため、矢張
