Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は防爆性を向上させた密閉形鉛電池に関するもの
であり、極群上部の空間をゲル化した硫酸電解質によっ
て埋めたことを特徴とするものである。
以下1本発明をその一実施例を示す第1図により詳細に
説明する。すなわち該図面において。
1は電槽、2は電槽1に収納された極群であり。
陽極板と陰極板と硫酸電解液を保持する1維径1μ以下
のガラス繊維を主体とするガラスマットとから構成され
ている。また3は電槽中豪。
4は弁、5は電槽上蓋である。劃1と電槽中11に3に
より仕切られた極群2上部の空間はゲル化した硫酸電解
質6で埋められている。
該硫wkIIl解質6の形成方法としては1例えば硫酸
電解液を注液後、ゲルを極#2の上部空間に充填する方
法が考えられる。
以上のごとく本発明によれば密閉形鉛電池の防爆性を向
上させることができ、更に充填されるのはゲル化した硫
酸電解質6であるので、極群2内に含まれている硫酸電
解液が希釈されることがない。
なお上記実施例ではガラスマットにより硫酸電解液を保
持するものについて例示したが9本発明は陽・陰極板間
にゲル化した硫酸電解質を介在させる形式の密閉形鉛電
池に適用することも可能である。
以上1本発明はその工業的価値の高いものである。
