Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrostatic recording device of small-sized, lightweight constitution which performs transfer and fixation stably and speedily by composing a toner image carrier of a belt having an elastic layer, and an intermediate transfer body of a roll. CONSTITUTION:A toner image formed on a beltlike toner carrier 1 consisting of a photoreceptor layer 11, a metallic intermediate layer 1b for preventing extension and a temperature rise, an elastic material layer 1c of silicone rubber, etc., is transferred to an intermediate transfer body which is a metallic roll incorporating a heat source 5a and having a high-resisting resin layer 5c on the surface. Then, this transferred image is fixed once transferred to a transfer material P heated by a transfer material heat plate 7 through a roll 4 and a fixing press roll 6 incorporating a heat source 6a pressed against the roll 4. This lightweight, small-sized constitution realizes an electrostatic recording device which performs transfer and fixation stably and speedily.

ことができるし、それKよって現像系の簡略化、画質の
向上部を図ることができると云う利点もある。しかし、
中間転写体のベルトを駆動するために、少くとも2本の
回転ロールを必要として、それが記録装置の小型、軽量
化を妨げると云う問題がある。

と中間転写体面との接触が全幅に渡って一様か圧力で一
様に行われるように、ロール状の中間転写体はまた、表
面転写体層の下に弾性材層を設けている。このよう忙中
間転写体に弾性材層を設けると、内部に加熱源を設けて
も、その加熱を開始してから転写、定着を行い得るまで
の待ち時間が長くなる。この待ち時間を短くするために
は、中間転写体の核をなす金属ロールの肉厚を、転写の
ための圧力で変形しない範囲で、できるlIシ薄くし、
さらに、中間転写体の弾性材層もできるだけ薄くする必
要がある。それでも、中間転写体の表面には、トナー像
相持体からと転写材へのトナー像の受は渡しが確実に行
われるように、SOOμm以下のシリコン系あるいは弗
素系の樹脂からなるトナー像の受は渡し性をよくするた
めの転写体層が設けられるのが昔通であるから、待ち時
間を短かくすることは相当に困難である。すなわち。実

で最早、転写材Pにトナー像を完全に定着するととがで
きる。したがって、トナー像相持体lにトナー像が形成
される時間岬を考慮すると、静電記録装置の運転には、
定着のための待ち時間を殆んど必要としなくなる。
