第１図は従来の液晶表示セルで、１ａと１ｂが透明電極
を有する透明絶縁基材、３は液晶、４ａと４ｂは偏光板
である。第２図は第１図の液晶表示セルが電界の有無に
よって液晶分子の様姿を示す。第３図′は従来の液晶表
示セルのコントラスト−視角範囲の例を示す図である。 第４図は本願になる液晶表示セルの実施例で、図では基
本セルを２個重畳した例で示しである。第５図は本願の
液　　　−晶表示セルの液晶配向（又はツイスト方向）
の例を示す。

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 液晶層が積層された液晶表示セルにおいて、上層の液晶
    は透明電極を有する第１の基材と第２の基材と第３の基
    材間に概９０°ツイスト配向されて挾持され、前記上層
    の液晶層と下層の液晶層の前記第２の基材壁面の配向方
    向は１８０°異なり、前記上層の液晶層１の基材壁面の
    配向方向と前記下層の液晶層の前記第３の基材壁面の配
    向方向が概１８０°異なり配向され表示を行なうことを
    ゛特徴とした液晶表示セル。
