Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は式（Ｉ）で示される４−ヒドロキシー４ーメチ
ルーシクロヘキセンー ２−オンー１（以下、化合物（
Ｉ）と称する。
）なる新規化合物に関する。゜（Ｉ）本発明の化合物（
Ｉ）はそのまゝの状態ではフェノール的かつ家畜小屋的
動物臭の物質であるが、非常に稀釈されると温みのある
、一種の甘味を連想させる香気を与える。
本発明者らはこの化合物（Ｉ）をＩＯＰ口程度配合する
ことにより、その調合品の天然性を著しく高めることを
見出した。たとえばペチグレン、ラバンジン、ラベンダ
ー、オレンジ、レモン、ベルガモツト、ペパーミント、
スペアミント等の合成精油の調合に際し、本発明の化合
物（Ｉ）を使用するとその効果が発揮される。本発明の
化合物（Ｉ）は、たとえば次に示すような方法により合
成することができる。すなわち、ｐ−ニトロトルエン（
■）をＹ、Ｏｇａｔａ等：ＪＡＣＳ、」１、３８５５（
１９６４）の方法により亜鉛未還元してＮ−（ｐ−メチ
ルフェニル）−ヒドロキシルアミン（■）を得、この化
合物（■）はＳ。
Ｇｏｏｄｗｉｎ等：ＪＡＣＳ、７９、１８１、（１９５
７）の方法により稀硫酸で処理してｐ−トルキノール潤
を得る。化合物（５）を５％Ｐｄ／Ｃ触媒で部分水添す
ることにより化合物（１）を得ることができる。次に、
実施例により本発明を詳しく説明する。実施例 １ 上記の２つの文献に記載の方法により得られたｐ−トル
キノール５０９をエチルアルコール５０９に溶解し、触
媒として５％パラジウム−カーボンを０，５９加えて室
温で水素１気圧下に振とうして水添した。
０．５モル水添理論量の８０％の水素が吸収されたとこ
ろで反応を中止し、触媒を淵別後、減圧蒸留して１０１
．５〜１０９．５℃／２ｍｍＨｇの留分４７９を得た。
