Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 （技術分野） 本発明は自動車等の排気ガス浄化ハニカムをケーシング
内に弾性的に支持すると同時にケーシング内面と７・ニ
カム外周面間を排気ガスが通うナいようにシールするよ
うにした排気ガス浄化ハニカム用シ゛−ル部材付クッシ
ョン体の成形方法に関するものである。
（従来技術） 従来排気ガス浄化ハニカムをケーシング内に支持する場
合は第１図の如＜８Ｍ社製インタラム（商標）のような
弾性を有し熱可膨張性のシール部材ｌをグーソング２内
面と、触媒を担持したハニカ・ム３外面との中間部に装
着し、金属細線をメリヤス網した筒金網を圧縮成形した
クッション体４．４を両端部に挿入支持していたが、シ
ール部材ｌとクッション体４とが別々になっていたので
組付作業が面倒であり、又シール部材が直接排気ガスに
さらされるため飛散し易いという欠点があった。
（目的） 本発明はシール部材とクッション体を一体化し、組付作
業を容易にすると同時にシール部材の飛散を防止するこ
とを目的とするものである。
（実施例） ＩＯは金属細線をメリヤス網した筒金網で、その一端１
０２を第３図の如く外側に２重折りして七の内部に例え
ば８Ｍ社製インタラム（商標）のような、弾性を有し熱
可膨張性のシール部材１１を第４図の如くはさみ込み、
第５図の如く筒金網１０の他端１０ｂよりシール部材１
１の部分を残して袋巻きし、第６図の如く該袋巻き部分
１０Ｃを圧縮して断面り型の環状クッション部１２を成
形し、該クッション部１２に連続して金網に包まれたシ
ール部１８を有する如くなしり排気ガス浄化ハニカム用
シール部材付クッション体１４を成形している。
使用時は第７図の如く、排気ガス浄化ノ・ニカム１５外
周にシール部１３をかぶせ、クッション部１２を排気ガ
ス浄化ハニカム１５両隅に当接してケーシング１６内に
挿入する。
（効果） 本発明方法による排気ガス浄化ノ・ニカム用シール部材
付りッション体ハ、クッション部に連続して金網に包ま
れだシール部が一体に成形されているので組付作業が容
易であり、又シール部材が金網で包まれており直接排気
ガスにさらされないので飛散することがない。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 金属細線をメリヤス網した筒金網の一端を外側に２重折
    りしてその内部にシール部材をはさみ込み、筒金網の他
    端よりシール部材の部分を残して袋巻きし、該袋巻き部
    分を所定形状に圧縮してクッション部となし、該クッシ
    ョン部（（連続して金網に包まれたシール部を有する如
    くなした排気ガス浄化ハニカム用シール部材付クッショ
    ン体の成形方法。
