Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a paint capable of inexpensively forming a golden coating film having excellent adhesive strength, durability, etc. when applied to metallic goods, plastic moldings, etc. and baked, by incorporating xylene in an org. paint in a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:More than 20wt%, pref. at least 30wt% xylene is incorporated in an org. paint compsn. consisting of 1wt% chromate, 5wt% methanol, 10wt% toluene, 30wt% methyl ethyl ketone, a primer, etc. to obtain the desired paint. This paint is applied to the surface of a strap and baked to obtain a coating film which has excellent resistance to perspiration, moisture, etc. and is not peeled off.

Prior art and its problems For example, in order to increase the commercial value of a watch band or a watch side, the surface of the watch band or watch side is sometimes colored with a gold base gold color. As conventional techniques for such surface treatment, a plating method in which titanium is attached by vacuum plating or the like, and a painting method in which an organic paint containing xylene is baked or applied are known.

However, when using the plating method, the plating adheres to the entire surface of the product, so it is necessary to remove unnecessary parts later, which increases the waste of plating.
The number of steps is large, and a large amount of equipment costs are required, resulting in high costs. On the other hand, when using a painting method, although the cost is lower than when using a plating method, the adhesion of the coating film to the product is low and it peels off easily, and it is not durable against sweat, moisture, chemicals, etc. However, there are disadvantages such as low performance and low reliability.

As mentioned above, xylene-containing organic paints that have been considered as paints for forming gold-colored paint films have the drawbacks of low adhesion, low durability, and low reliability. there were. The inventor of the present invention has made extensive efforts to solve the drawbacks of conventional paints, and as a result, the xylene content has been reduced to 20%.
It has been found that when the amount exceeds % by weight, a highly reliable coating film with high adhesion and durability can be formed on metal products, plastic products, etc. Furthermore, since it is only necessary to paint the necessary parts, there is no waste, the number of steps is reduced, and equipment costs are lower than in the case of plating. Therefore, costs can be significantly reduced. Moreover,
Baking checks whether the coating is good or bad before processing and eliminates defective products, and only those that meet predetermined coating standards can be processed and manufactured into products, so products of consistent quality can be produced at a high yield. It also has the advantage of being manufacturable. Next, the content of the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples.

A paint prepared with a composition of 24% by weight or more was applied to the surface of a watch band, which is a metal product, and baked at a temperature of 130° C. for 15 minutes. The thus obtained sample had very high adhesion and durability of the coating film to the metal surface, and almost no peeling of the coating occurred in the artificial sweat test, the artificial seawater test, and the taping test after the casting test. In addition, when targeting plastic products, a similar coating film with excellent adhesion and durability can be formed by baking for about 30 minutes at a temperature of 70'0. Ta.
