PURPOSE:To permit chip to be removed automatically by bringing a rotary brush into contact with the cutting edge groove of a rotary tool and transferring said rotary brush along the cutting edge groove, revolving the tool in the reverse direction. CONSTITUTION:A rotary tool 5 such as drill is transferred to a chip removal position after work is completed, and a brush 3 is turned to an operation position by a swing apparatus 1 at the same time, and said brush 3 is driven in rotation by an air grinder 2 concurrently. Then, a cutting edge groove is brought into contact with the brush 3, revolving the rotary tool 5 in the reverse direction, and the brush is put into relative movement so that the brush shifts along the cutting edge groove.
