Abstract

PURPOSE:To hold stably a float for a magnetic head and to stabilize characteristics, by tapering both wings of a nearly channel-shaped projecting part on the surface of the float which faces a medium surface, and forming recessed part at both side surface parts in addition to a center recessed part. CONSTITUTION:The float 1 mounts a magnetic head and the nearly channel- shaped projection part 9 is formed in the surface of the float facing a disk 7. The tip part 9' of the projecting part 9 is tapered and the recessed parts 11 are formed on both sides outside of the projecting part 9' in addition to the recessed part 10 at the center part. When an air flow slants as shown by an arrow, high negative pressure is generated at both hatched parts 8 of the projecting part 9 which generates positive pressure, but they are balanced mutually, preventing the float 1 from slanting to the surface of the disk 7. When the air flow slants reversely, a negative pressure generation part is inverted in position. Thus, the float is stabilized and variation of input/output characteristics is prevented.

(b) Prior art and problems Conventionally, the perspective view of the magnetism, which is levitated by the pressure of the air flow generated by the rotation of a magnetic disk, is shown in Figure 1(a)l.
(b) shows a side view. In the figure, l is a magnetic head, 2 and 5 are U-shaped protrusions that generate positive pressure or levitation force, 3 and 6 are recesses that operate in the opposite direction to negative pressure or levitation force, and 4 is an inclined surface.

Magnetic disk surface 7 of magnetic head l made of ferrite etc.
When the four parts 3 and 6 are formed by etching or the like on the opposing surface, the U-shaped protrusions 2 and 5 are formed. When an air flow generated by the rotation of the magnetic disk surface 7 approaches such a magnetic head from the direction of arrow A, a buoyancy force, that is, positive pressure is generated in the U-shaped protrusions 2 and 5 in the direction of arrow B. , four parts 3 and 6 are formed so as to generate negative pressure in the direction of arrow C to maintain a predetermined gap between the magnetic head l and the magnetic disk surface. By the way, as shown in Fig. 1, the airflow is formed so that it advances almost parallel to the longitudinal direction of the magnetic head l, but when the magnetic head l moves on the magnetic disk surface 7, the airflow tilts and comes into contact with it. The rear view and side view are shown in FIG. 2, and the same reference numerals are used for H1 (minutes) as in the previous figure, and 8 is the negative pressure generation area.

In both cases, the converter floating body 1 is tilted and the magnetic disk surface 7 is
There was a drawback that the gap between the magnetic and magnetic recording surfaces became uneven, resulting in a decrease in magnetic recording performance.

(d)! In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a floating body for a transducer for supporting a transducer near a recording/reproducing medium, in a direction substantially parallel to the moving direction of the movable recording/reproducing medium. The site rail installed in The site rail is used as a negative pressure generating area, and the positive pressure generating area of the sight rail is shaped like this, so that the negative pressure of the inner negative pressure generating part and the outer negative pressure generating part is transferred to the floating body. This is achieved by setting the angle so that the moments around the fixed part that hold it are balanced.

Projection Lit rf++ with U-shaped both sides sloped on both sides
41 by etching, the converter floating body 1 is formed.
The portion of the surface excluding the protruding portion 9 becomes the central opening 171i1(l) and the recessed portions 11 on both sides.
Strong negative pressure is generated on both sides of the protrusion 9, which generates positive pressure even if the path of the air flowing toward the main body 1 is inclined.
8 (shown by nonching) occurs, but since positive pressure and negative pressure are generated in each case, the transducer floats against the magnetic disk surface 7. lll1 OE 1 can be prevented from tilting. Therefore, it is important to set the angle (azimuth angle) of the inclined surfaces on both sides of the U-shape.
