  1. （１）印字ヘッドを移動させつつ印字動作を行なうシリ
    アル印字型のプリンタにおいて、 少なくとも低速又は高速の相異なる速度で前。 記印字ヘッドを駆動する印字ヘッド駆動手段と、印字前
    の印字文字データよりスペース文字データを検出するス
    ペース文字検出手段と、前記スペース文字検出手段の出
    力によりスペース文字が印字される時に前記印字ヘッド
    の駆動を高速に切換える速度切換手段と、を具備するこ
    とを特徴とするプリンタ。
  2. （２）前記スペース文字検出手段は印字データを一時保
    持する印字文字バッファを有し、該印字文字バッファに
    与えられる印字文字データに基ツいて連続したスペース
    文字データを検出するものであることを特徴とする実用
    新案登録請求の範囲第１項記載のプリンタ。
