Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a distortion-free pattern on the surface of a steel plate by pressurizing a transfer sheet laminated with a resin coat layer, a pattern layer and an adhesive layer in that order on the steel plate after a thermoplastic resin sheet is placed thereon. CONSTITUTION:A transfer sheet 1 develops an adhesivity with the activation of an adhesive layer 5 by heat when transferred and peels off between a transfer sheet base material 2 and a resin coat layer 3. A pattern layer 4 is formed using an ink usually used for fancy papers and transfer papers, that containing a hardener of the resin coat layer 3 or that having a reaction group reactive to the resin of the resin coat layer 3 and the pattern is selected from among abstract patterns such as grain pattern, cloth pattern, pebble pattern and lattice pattern as desired. The transfer sheet thus obtained is pressed together with a thermoplastic resin sheet 8 on a steel plate 6 heated up to 180-220 deg.C after the application of an adhesive 7 thereon by means of a pressure roll 9 and then, only the transfer sheet base material 2 is removed. In this matter, a steel plate is obtained as decorated with a thermoplastic resin sheet having a pattern layer and resin coat layer.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for decorating a steel plate, and more specifically, when laminating a thermoplastic resin sheet on the surface of a steel plate, a pattern is applied to the surface of the sheet by transfer, thereby creating a distortion-free pattern on the steel plate. It relates to a method of forming on a surface.

Conventional methods for applying decorations such as patterns to the surface of a steel plate include printing directly on the surface of the steel plate, or laminating sheets with printed patterns through an adhesive. Direct printing methods include applying paint to the surface of a steel plate to form a resin layer, or laminating a resin sheet such as a PVC sheet, and applying a pattern to the surface using a gravure offset printing method, etc. This method has problems with printing clarity, registration accuracy, etc., and is often unsatisfactory in terms of design effect.

In addition, the method of laminating sheets with printed patterns does not have any problems in terms of print clarity and registration accuracy, but the sheet expands and contracts due to the heat applied when laminating it with the steel plate, and the pattern on its surface is distorted. This has the disadvantage that the image is distorted, making it impossible to form abstract patterns such as lattice patterns.

The present invention has been made in order to eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional methods as described above, and relates to a method of laminating a thermoplastic resin sheet to a steel plate and at the same time forming a pattern by transfer using the heat applied at that time. It is something.
