Coil parts with such a configuration are difficult to automate the winding process of the end of the coil, and furthermore, after soldering, the solder bulges on the electrodes, so it is difficult to attach them to the printed circuit board. There was a problem in that it became unstable once it was placed.

The present invention has been made in view of these points, and provides a method for manufacturing chip-shaped coil components that facilitates and enables automation of processing of coil terminal parts and that does not cause excess solder to bulge up. This is what I am trying to do.

The coil 32 in this embodiment has two coils stacked and wound around a winding core. Next, each end portion 33.3 of the coil 32 wound in this manner is

29, 30, and 31 in the same direction. If the end part protrudes from the protrusion after bending, press a cutter against the protrusion and cut off the excess. After that, flux is applied to the electrode portions, and the flange 23 is immersed in the molten solder, and the electrodes 28, 29, 30.
31 and the end portions 33, 34, 35, and 36 of the coil. When the electrode is pulled out of the molten solder, there will be excess solder hanging down on the electrode due to surface tension, so before the solder hardens, it can be removed from the surface of cloth, leather, etc., or if it is taut. The electrode portion is rubbed against a string-like wiping member such as kite string, or the wiping member is rubbed against the electrode portion to remove the dripping solder. This rubbing direction needs to be carried out along the bending direction of the end portion of the coil. When the excess solder is removed in this way, only a small amount of solder remains on the electrode portion, so that no extra protrusions are formed. Further, by this rubbing, each end portion of the coil 32 is reliably connected in a state in which it is in contact with the electrode portion.

The coil component in the above embodiment has two parts in the winding core part of the core.
Since the transformer is constructed by winding several coils, there are four coil terminals, but as shown in Figure 3, there are also coil parts with only one coil wound. It goes without saying that similar manufacturing methods can be applied. In the coil component shown in the third figure, a coil 40 is wound around a core 39 having flanges 31 and 38 formed at both ends of the winding core, and a pair of electrodes 41 are attached to both end portions of the back surface of one flange 38. The coil end portions 43 and 44 are bent and soldered along .42. The portion of the illustrated flange 38 to which the electrode is attached is formed in a narrow shape, and there is no need for this portion to have a shape similar to that of the guide.

Note that the method of winding the coil is not limited to the method of rotating the core as described above, but it goes without saying that a method of fixing the core and winding the wire can also be adopted.

In addition, although the shape of the core is shown as having a rectangular flange in each case, the shape of the flange may be other shapes such as a round shape. Furthermore, if the flange on which the end of the coil is attached is made of magnetic material such as ferrite, it should have a structure in which insulating plates are bonded together, and electrodes can be provided at the ends of this insulating plate to coil the coil. The terminal portion may be soldered to the electrode.

As explained above, the manufacturing method of the present invention includes a step of winding a coil around a core having a flange having at least one pair of electrodes attached to the bottom surface, and a step of winding a coil around a core having a flange having at least one pair of electrodes attached to the bottom surface, and winding a plurality of terminal portions of the coil along the electrodes on the bottom surface of the flange. Since it includes the steps of bending in the same direction, applying solder to the bent end portion and the electrode, and removing excess solder with a wiping member before the applied solder solidifies, The work of winding the coil end, which was a bottleneck for automation, has been eliminated, making automation possible. By removing excess solder with a wiping member, there is no solder buildup and it is stable on the printed circuit board. It will be possible to place it. In addition, since there is a process of removing with a wiping member,
It has various excellent features such as the fact that the wiping member presses the bent end part against the electrode part without having to wrap and fix the end part of the coil as in conventional methods, so that it can be securely connected to the electrode part. be effective.
