In the figure, a required number of ZnO elements 1 are stacked together and fixed with a suitable support, and metal (
It is housed and fixed in a container 4 by a spacer tube 2 and a spring 3. Further, this container 4 has an airtight structure with upper and lower waste plates 5 and packing 6.

The power loss generated in this ZnO element 1 escapes into the atmosphere by heat radiation from the surface of the element 1 and heat conduction through the element-space tube, and ZnO reaches the balance point between heat generation and heat radiation.
The temperature of O element 1 will rise. On the other hand, when comparing the amount of heat dissipated from the surface of the element 1 and the amount of conduction heat of the element 1, the amount of conduction heat of the element 1 largely contributes to heat release.

It is minimum at the center of Zn0g child group 1 shown in FIG. Therefore, when we analyze the element temperature distribution in Figure 1, we find that
As shown by the curve AK in the figure, the l crystallinity is maximum at the center of the element 1.

The metal pipe 7 for assembling and fixing the element is electrically connected between each unit block at the approximate center where the temperature rise of the element 1 is maximum. The metal tube 2 is covered with an insulator 8 having a large thermal conductivity coefficient, and is brought into contact with the inner surface of the container 4.
In a gapless surge arrester having such a configuration, there is no need to directly insulate the side surface of the ZnO element 1 (as in the conventional case), and there is no risk of deterioration due to corona generation on the side surface of the ZnO element 1 or risk of side flash. Moreover, the heat can be dissipated directly into the container 4 through the metal pipe 7 and the insulator 8, and the temperature rise of the ZnO element 1 can be suppressed.

By suppressing the temperature rise without any adverse effect on the element 1 itself, it is possible to permanently improve the reliability of the gapless arrester.

You may testify.
